Once leaving University after studying history, I realised the only career for me included animals. I had grown up with a wide range of animals, bantums, cats, dogs, rabbits and even a duck at one point. So, working with them seemed a dream come true. I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2005, then went on to gain an advanced diploma in Companion animal behaviour and training in 2007. Animal behaviour is a keen interest of mine, and I often feel a misunderstood one.
My role as lead nurse tends to mean I am more office-based now looking after the three nursing and receptionist teams. However, I still get to be hands on as a nurse covering holidays. The best part of my job really.
